In Memorium of A Great Tragedy

Today marks the ninth anniversary of the Terrorist attacks of 9/11. Nine years ago today, a group of misguided men changed the world forever, and the Sovereign Barony of Nonsuch honors the memory of all who lost their lives that day.

Protect A Book Day

It is my pleasure to announce the first official holiday in the Sovereign Barony of Nonsuch;

"Protect A Book Day"

Whether it's a Qur'an, a Bible, a Torah, or whatever book you feel might be threatened, go to your nearest bookstore or public library and buy or borrow a copy of that book. Keep it safe from those who would destroy it, and better yet, read the book as well.

We must show those who would destroy knowledge (Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, Mao Zedong, Terry Jones, etc., etc.) that the accumulated wisdom in the worlds truly great books is stronger than they are.

Wesley,
Baron of Nonsuch

Condemnation of Intolerance

It is found by the Sovereign Barony of Nonsuch that the planned burning of copies of the Muslim Holy Qur'an, that the evangelical, fundamentalist Christian church led by the reverend Terry Jones, in Gainesville, Florida to be an act of hate and terror that serves no truly useful purpose.

It is also found that the logic behind the book burning to be flawed on a very key point. Reverend Jones claims that the act is a protest against Islamic Extremists for the events of September 11th, 2001. Very well, but if Christian Extremists bomb a family planning clinic, will they object to pro-choice groups burning bibles in protest for that action? I think not.

If a bully kicks sand in your face, will kicking even more sand in his face make him stop, or simply make him kick even more sand back again?

In other words "An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, would leave the whole world blind and toothless".

Wesley,
